On May 16, 2025, the European Commission took an important step for all stakeholders operating in the textile sector: The EU Textile Ecosystem Platform was officially launched. This digital platform aims to contribute to Europe’s climate neutrality and digital transformation goals by bringing together companies, SMEs, policy makers, researchers and industry associations across the textile value chain.
The new platform offers an information and collaboration environment centered around sustainability, digitalization, competitiveness and resilience. Current industry news, upcoming events, webinars, regulatory developments, financing opportunities and networking tools are gathered in a single digital hub for users.
One of the main objectives of the EU Textile Ecosystem Platform is to enable more effective cooperation and information sharing among industry players. This will make the textile sector more resilient and innovative in line with EU policies such as the European Green Deal and the Ecodesign Directive for Sustainable Products.
At the same time, the capacity building aspect of this platform comes to the fore. In particular, it aims to raise awareness on digitalization and circular economy, share best practices and facilitate access to EU support programs.
This new initiative, which aims to create a strong transformation in the textile industry on the axis of digitalization and sustainability, is open and free of charge to all stakeholders.
